A football fanatic was so sure to see his football team win the FA cup that he had a celebration tattoo done 4 days before the final! You could say that it was very brave….or very foolish. The team had no guarantee of winning the trophy and if they had failed to win, the super confident fan would have ended up with a very embarrassing tattoo.

Craig Reed, 29, a Manchester City fan was so convinced that his team would win the FA Cup that he asked his local tattoo artist to ink the trophy on his back with the words “Manchester City –  FA Cup winners 2011“.

Craig  paid £180 to get the tattoo done. Had his team lost, he would have cost him a lot more than that to have the tattoo removed. He just said that he was so convinced they would win, that he asked the tattoo artist to do it despite the tattooist initial reaction. The tattoo artist wasn’t convinced this was a good idea and as a true professional, he gave him a lecture about regrets and tattoo removal before being convinced to do it anyway. Craig said that he’d be happy to keep the tattoo even if the team had lost as he’s so passionate about Manchester City.

This is Craig’s 28th tattoo and 20 of them are Manchester City related. Despite the fact that Manchester City had been waiting 35 years for a major trophy, his latest tattoo was also the largest one.

Manchester City played the final yesterday against Stoke and Craig won’t need tattoo removal as they won the trophy. Craig had made the trip to London to watch the match at Wembley with his three-year-old son, Nathan. Let’s hope that he will just get picture of the event as a souvenir. He was very close to joining up the list of Manchester City fans queuing up to remove tattoos.
